We are a small, dedicated team with the same passions: writing and activism. Join us on our journey to feature more youth voices from around the world.
FOUNDERS
Aiden Zhou (he/him) is a senior from Canada. A lifelong reader, he fell in love with literature at a young age and hopes that True to You can be a place for young people to create and share their own stories. He believes in the importance of advocacy, especially from the next generation.
George Sun (he/him) is a writer from Canada. Fascinated by creative writing and its ability to connect one another, he hopes True to You will let youth address the stories and issues that matter in the world. His work appears or is forthcoming in Blue Marble Review, Thimble Lit Mag, and the WEIGHT Journal, among others. He is an alumnus of the Iowa Young Writers' Studio.
EDITORS
Carina D'Souza (she/her) is from Toronto. In her spare time, she enjoys playing chess, reading, and rowing. Having written and published articles in several journals, she believes that True to You will be an important outlet for youth to voice their opinions to a diverse audience.
Ian Crawford (he/him) is a photographer. He aligns with True to You's mission–to bring light on youth's voices through not only literary means, but also in artistic forms, such as photojournalism.
Chris Cui (he/him) is based out of London, England. He is an avid photographer and blogger.
Justin Lee (he/him) is a senior at Nevada State High School. He is the Editor-in-Chief for his school's newspaper, and his work has been published or is forthcoming in 3Elements Review, Blue Marble Review, Eunoia Review, and others. When he isn't writing, Justin is either sketching or eating obscene amounts of peanut butter straight from the jar.
SOCIAL MEDIA
Addison Haywood (she/her) is a junior from Chicago, Illinois. She is True to You Magazine's Social Media Manager. Addison is very active in her school community, spearheading volunteer initiatives to give back to the school that has made her into who she is today. She is also the Co-Editor-in-Chief of her school’s newspaper. Outside of the classroom, Addison enjoys reading and playing sports, as well as hanging out with friends and watching TV shows.
